About Michelle

Michelle La Poetica, who was born to Dominican immigrant parents in 1976 in New York City, and later moved to Massachusetts where she currently resides, places a great emphasis on her identity as a mother, a woman, and a creative soul.

She has been writing poetry since the age of 8, and has come to understand that writing is the only way for her to fully express her thoughts and emotions. She believes that the balance between love and life creates a range of emotions that are always intertwined, and her belief is reflected in all of her poetry, which all falls under the category of "life" despite its diversity and connection to specific experiences.
